This Privacy Policy explains how CalFit ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. By using CalFit, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name you choose. Authentication is handled by our backend provider (Supabase).

Community content. If you use the community feature, the posts, comments, and images you choose to share are stored on our servers and visible to other signed-in members.

Health and activity data. Food logs, weight entries, exercise records, and body measurements you enter are stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to our servers.

Food photos. When you use AI photo recognition, the photo you take is sent for analysis to generate nutrition estimates. Photos are processed for that purpose and are not used to identify you.

Usage data. We keep simple on-device counts of feature usage (for example, daily limits) to operate the app.

2. Data Shared with a Third-Party AI Service

CalFit's AI features — photo recognition and the nutrition assistant — are powered by a third-party AI service, OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), which routes requests to AI model providers. We ask for your explicit consent inside the app before any AI feature sends data, and you can use the rest of CalFit without using AI features.

What we send:

• The food photo you take or choose (for photo recognition).
• The questions you type (for the nutrition assistant).
• Basic profile context to personalize answers: your calorie goal, current and target weight, and the calories/protein you have logged today.

What we do not send: your name, email address, account identifier, or community content. The data is sent only to generate your result, is not used to identify you, and is not used to train models or for advertising. The AI service provides protections for this data equivalent to those described in this policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To operate the community feature you choose to participate in.
• To provide nutrition estimates and the AI assistant.
• To calculate your calorie targets and show your progress.
• To enforce subscription access and daily usage limits.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the app:

• Supabase — account authentication and storage of community content.
• OpenRouter — the third-party AI service that powers photo recognition and the nutrition assistant. Food photos, your questions, and the basic profile context described in section 2 are processed by this service to generate your results. See section 2 for details.
• USDA FoodData Central — public food and nutrition database used for food search.
• Apple — subscription purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Health, food, weight, and exercise data stay on your device and are removed if you delete the app. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app: go to the "Me" tab, open the Account section, and tap "Delete Account". This immediately and irreversibly removes your account and all associated community content (posts, comments, likes) and uploaded images from our servers. 6. Children's Privacy

CalFit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

7. Medical Disclaimer

CalFit is a general wellness and fitness tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition guidance is based on public sources (see the in-app References). Consult a qualified professional for health decisions.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
